Pi!! This is such a great symbol for math. It’s an incredible number, and there is so much to it. This banner would make a fantastic decoration for any math teacher, professor, or anyone else who loves pi and it’s complexity.

This pattern includes the chart, as well as written directions, and a document that gives tips and videos that help you with learning how to do filet crochet.

You will need any sport weight yarn, but pictured is peach colored Bernat Baby Yarn and is a great bright color for my classroom. You will also need a size F crochet hook, or any small hook to reach my gauge. If you use smaller or larger, your finished banner will be smaller or larger. You could certainly use cotton thread, or even worsted weight. I used a 12” dowel rod to hang it, but just know that the banner is almost 12” wide, so be careful that it might slide off. I used those small craft rubber bands that sometimes are used in making friendship bracelets, and put one on each side twisted twice. You could use a regular rubber band, but colorful ones means you can match your project easier.
