I was recently inspired to finally write down one of my designs and actually publish. So this is my first, and I truly was inspired. I had been looking for some stranded fingerless mitts that weren’t necessarily traditional and realized there wasn’t a lot out there. I like to play with colours, and I adore the idea of pairing solid yarns with a gradient, variegated or speckled yarn. I am also thrilled by the idea of non-matching pairs of mitts and socks. So my hope is that not only was I inspired designing these mitts, but that other will be inspired by endless colours and combinations available for this design.

These cute stranded mitts are worked bottom up, starting with ribbing. The thumb is gusseted, and both mitts are identical so there is no left and right. The top has a long ribbed edge that can be folded or left flat for a bit of extra coverage on your thumb and fingers. The pattern is fully charted as well as explained throughout. Although there is only one size, it can be adjusted with needle size.

I hope you are all inspired to play with colour, and I look forward to seeing everyone’s visions.
