This pattern is worked in turned rows and is quite quick to finish. The open design allows for a lower yardage to go a long way. If you would like a bulkier scarf, you can begin your chain with a lower stitch count, ensuring you have a multiple of 5 + 2. This pattern uses American crochet terminology.

Sizes: One size. Finished scarf measures approximately 12” x 70”/30.5 x 178 cm.

Yarn: 450 yards/415 meters of sock weight yarn.
Sample shown in Kooler Kolors with Cloverleaf Farms West - Alpaca Twist colorway Turquoise.

Hook: Size US G/4 mm, or size needed to obtain gauge.
Gauge: 21 stitches x 7 rows = 4”/10 cm in Ginkgo Leaves pattern (blocked).

Swatching: Chain 22. Work Ginkgo Leaves chart as written through row 7. Block to 4”/10 cm wide x 4” – 4.5”/10 – 11.5 cm tall (4.5”/11.5 cm at the peak of the leaf scallop).

Notions: Blocking mat, wires, and t-pins.

Techniques: Chain, single crochet, double crochet, triple crochet, quadruple crochet, and quintuple crochet (US terminology used throughout).
