This pattern was written to be a part of the 2020 International Crochet Month Party as the MCAL. The thread for discussing the pattern can be found here.

Hello all! After a year break, I’m back with a brand new MCAL this year! This year will once again be an amigurumi with three different variations of the same design! Each will be constructed the same but the color changes are different. Below you can find a list of the materials you will need for this year’s MCAL!

US E (3.5 MM) Hook
US G (4.0 MM) Hook
US K (6.5 MM) Hook
Stitch Markers
Straight Pins (to aid in assembly)
Tapestry Needle
Scissors
Fiberfill
One set of 12-15 MM Safety Eyes for each variation made

Yarn needed:
MC1 in worsted weight
MC2 in worsted weight
CC1 in worsted weight
CC2 in worsted weight

MC1 in bulky weight (designated MC1BW)
MC2 in bulky weight (designated MC2BW)
Please note: for the MCAL, your bulky weight yarn color does not necessarily have to match your worsted weight yarn color, but the finished pattern (once it is revealed at the end of the month) will call for matching color yarn.
Note 2: if you don’t have bulky weight yarn or don’t want to get bulky weight yarn, you can make the piece using the bulky weight yarn by holding three strands of your worsted weight yarn together.

These amigurumis are smaller than what I have made in the past and will be great to use stash yarn for. I used less than a RHSS skein of MC1 and MC2 to make all three variations. If you want to do all three variations in the month, you will most certainly have time to do so! And yes, you do need all three hook sizes and both yarn sizes.

Variation #1 will use: all worsted weight colors and MC1BW
Variations #2 and #3 will use: MC1, MC2, CC1, and MC2BW
