A beautiful cable cowl pattern with a tight fit for natural yarns. I knitted this with camel hair yarn, but I’m sure it will look just as lovely with alpaca or merino wool.

Despite the intricate design, it’s actually only a 16 stitch repeat, so very easy to adjust for bigger or smaller sizes.

You will need around 260 yards with needles size 6 to finish this cowl (for the suggested yarn, that’s 2 and a half skeins or around 120 grams).

It took me about 10 hours to finish, so I think it’s a reasonable fast project.

You may need cable needles to finish this project, even though I knitted without it.
Circular needles (magic loop) or DPNs are both okay.

Gauge/Size:
This is a tight fit (i like it that way). So, if you follow my cast on recommendations, you will end up with a wide turtleneck (around 20-22” in diameter; unstretched and unblocked; but it gives quite a lot). That being said it’s incredibly easy to adjust the pattern and knit it in the width you prefer best.
