Into the Dunes is a light and airy warmer weather garment, with eye-catching bands of stranded colourwork at the neck and armholes.

CONSTRUCTION
This garment is worked top-down, initially flat, then later in the round. The back is cast on first, with short row shaping used to shape the back of the neck and slope the shoulders. Sizes 6-10 work increases into the lower section of the armhole. Once armhole depth is reached, the front shoulders are picked up (one side at a time), with short row shaping used again to slope the shoulder piece, then increases are used to shape the V-neck. Once the armhole depth has been reached, front and back are joined together, and once the V-neck depth is reached, the two front pieces are joined together.
After this, the remainder of the body is worked in the round, with optional decreases to shape the waist, before a twisted-rib waistband. Stitches are picked up around the neckhole, with stranded colourwork creating a decorative neckband, finished with I-Cord edging. The same stranded colourwork and I-Cord combination is added to the armholes.

This garment is graded into sizes 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) (6, 7, 8, 9, 10). Recommended positive ease is 8+” / 20+ cm at the chest circumference.

GAUGE
Using 3.25 mm / US size 3 needles, or needle size required to meet gauge, 28 stitches over 36 rounds in both stockinette stitch and colourwork, wet blocked, creates a 4x4” / 10x10 cm square.

YARN
The sample has been worked using Knitting for Olive’s Merino fingering-weight base (100% Extra Fine Merino; 250 m / 274 yds per 50 g) in colourway Hazel as the main colour.
Contrast Colours are fingering weight leftovers from stash.
