These surprisingly quick Outlander-inspired gloves feature:

  1. a bars and chevrons gansey pattern from Inverness,
  2. a “lifeline” increase for the thumb, instead of the standard gusset,
  3. a gently flared cuff, as homage to the “Gunnister Gloves”, an early example of knitted gloves dug up from a Scottish bog,
  4. a densely knitted gauge with dk-weight wool, to create a glove warm enough to cope with wind, wet, and cold, and
  5. a luxurious wool/silk blend.

The S/M takes 2 balls; the L takes 3 balls.
