A simple top-down pair of fingerless mittens with thumbs, which are designed for use with gradient yarns or those instances where you want to use every last yard of yarn!

These mittens are knit in stocking stitch but would be easy to customise with your preferred stitch patterns.

The mitten has been designed for the Vivid Fibre Arts fingering weight gradient yarns. Sample shows a Medium size knit using Vivid Fibre Arts Gemini MCN XL (264 yds / 241 m per 60g) in the ‘Sonrisa’ colourway. This yarn is also available at standard 176 yds / 161 m per 40g. Materials
Minimum 176 yds / 161 m of Fingering Weight yarn.
2.75 mm / US 2 DPNs or Circular Needle (if using circulars, a spare needle is required)
2 stitchmarkers
Tapestry needle
Short length of waste yarn

Gauge
32 stitches / 40 rows to 4 “ / 10 cm in stocking stitch

Sizes
XS, S, M, L, XL. To fit hand diameter of 5, (6, 7, 8, 9) “ / 12 (15, 18, 21, 24) cm. Length will vary on size and yardage used.

For XS & S, the standard 40g option is sufficient, unless you want to make extra long versions. For M, either the standard or XL options can work (sample is M using XL option). For L & XL versions, the XL yarn quantity is recommended.
