Irbis hat is a seamless at knit from the bottom up with stranded colorwork.
Pattern is prepared for four sizes.
Pattern is written for circular needles and uses Magic Loop for crown shaping.
You can find a chart for the body of the hat, all other instructions are in written form only.

Sizes (head circumference) and yardage (total yarn required):
S (46 - 48.5 cm / 18 - 19”)
MC: 100 m / 110 yds, CC: 55 m / 62 yds + scraps for pompom (optional)
M (48.5 - 51 cm / 19 - 20”)
MC: 120 m / 130 yds, CC: 60 m / 65 yds + scraps for pompom (optional)
L (51 - 56 cm / 20 - 22”)
MC: 175 m / 190 yds, CC: 85 m / 95 yds + scraps for pompom (optional)
XL (56 - 61 cm / 22 - 24”)
MC: 190 m / 207 yds, CC: 95 m / 103 yds + scraps for pompom (optional)

Gauge:
22 stitches x 28 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm / 4” x 4” in Stockinette Stitch and in colorwork

Yarn (in two colors):
Sample: Alize Cashmira (100% Wool, 300 m / 328 yds in 100 g / 3.53 oz)

Other materials:

  • Circular needles in two sizes – first in size needed to obtain gauge, second in one size down. (For the sample I used 4.5 mm and 4 mm / US 7 and US 6)

  • Tapestry needle

  • 1 stitch marker (BOR), 4-5 markers B (optional) to mark every chart repeat

  • Optional: pom-pom maker, double pointed needles in larger size
