Ireland's Blanket
Snuggle your little one in the delightful warmth and charm of this beautifully textured baby blanket! It’s not just a blanket; it’s a cozy hug that wraps your baby in comfort and love!
As our son and daughter-in-law eagerly awaited the arrival of their first child, I wanted to create something special to welcome the little one into the world. I decided to knit a beautiful Aran blanket, a tradition I hold dear. The blanket was crafted with love and care, featuring intricate patterns of diamonds, twists, and cables that are characteristic of Aran knitting. Each stitch was infused with my hopes and dreams for the baby. When the time finally came, they named her Ireland - a name that represents the deep roots of our family heritage and embodies beauty and strength, much like the blanket I made for her.
The blanket is worked from the bottom up in one piece; the side, bottom and top borders are worked in classic moss stitch.
Instructions for creating a smaller version of the blanket, suitable for a newborn car seat, are included.
The pattern includes a chart and line-by-line written instructions.
Thank you to my dear friend, Lori, for sharing her beautiful photos. This lovely baby blanket showcases her talent and dedication. Knowing how much time and love she puts into her knitting, it’s no surprise that she has made more than I have! Lori, your work is so inspiring. Keep shining and sharing your amazing creations!
May good luck be with you wherever you go, and your blessings outnumber the shamrocks that grow.
An Irish Blessing
