NOW UPDATED WITH 5 VERSIONS OF THE SCARF

The Irene Scarf is a beginner friendly bias knit scarf, knit in 4 ply/fingering yarn plus one DK version. The scarves are the perfect project to use those single skeins of hand dyed yarn that are lurking in your stash.
The pattern collection includes five versions:

• Irene Scarf 1: A one skein project which creates a longer, narrow scarf. The projects uses primarily garter stitch with lace stitch sections created by knitting two together and yarn overs.
• Irene Scarf 2: Another one skein project, this scarf is shorter and wider than the first. Again the scarf is knit on the bias and combines garter stitch, broken rib and lace sections.
• Irene Scarf 3: A two skein project which works best with two different but complimentary skeins of yarn. The scarf begins with one colour, the two skeins are then alternated through the middle section and the scarf is completed with the second colour. A icord type edging helps to create a neat finish to the sides of the scarf. This version is more suited to beginner to intermediate knitters.
• Irene Scarf 4: This version of the Scarf maintains the signature bias shaping is knit on the long edge of the scarf. Made with a 100g skein of fingering/ 4 ply yarn and a contrasting 20g mini skein, this is a great project for sock sets or a single skein with some left over yarn. The scarf is knit mainly in soothing garter stitch interspersed with lace eyelet rows framed in the contrast colour.
• Irene Scarf DK: The Irene Scarf DK is the perfect cosy, small scarf. The pattern sample used under 100g of DK weight yarn so is perfect for those single skeins that we all have lurking in our stash. However, the scarf can easily be made longer or wider. The DK scarf is a simple, beginner friendly project combining soothing garter stitch sections with simple eyelet lace sections and has a slip stitch edge for a neat finish.
