Iris hat is knitted with two strands of yarn and a brim folded triple for extra warmth and coziness during the winter months. Combining a strand of silk-mohair knitted together with merino singles makes the hat really soft and gives it a beautiful halo.

You can easily adjust the size and length of the hat to get the fit you want. The hat is knitted from top down, so you can try it on as you knit it to make sure the head circumference and length are just perfect for your head. After the crown shaping the rest of the hat is just simple 1x1 ribbing.

This hat is designed for everyday use, and despite the small needles and fingering weight yarn it knits up surprisingly fast. This is the perfect project to use the precious hand dyed skeins from your stash, as the simple texture really highlights the colors and texture of the yarn! You can either go for muted look by choosing one solid and one speckled yarn or for extra speckles by picking both yarns in speckled colorways (either the same colorway or both different).
