In this pattern I will show you how to make a beret (hat) in Irish Crochet Lace technique. It is an old technique to make a clothes dividing by procedure.

This pattern includes:

  • written instructions of each motif, and a photo of each row.
  • charts
  • of each motif, schemes and a photo of each row.

Skill level:
- Intermediate.

Procedure:

  1. Take all measurements
  2. Make a drawing. When I work on items such a top or blouse, I skip this step because I assemble them on a dummy tailor’s mannequin.
  3. Crochet needed motifs.
  4. Wash and steam the motifs.
  5. Apply motifs on the Styrofoam tablet or mannequin wrong side up. Put them, following mine composition or put them at your own way, and create your own unique design.
  6. Assemble, filling the spaces between motifs with Irregular mesh (background, netting, filling). Or put motifs without any space and join with needle at connection points.
  7. Remove all pins. Wash and steam ready item.
  8. Wear in with pleasure and be proud of yourself.
