Irmin's Try-Angled No. 2
Irmin’s Try-Angled No. 2
This asymmetrical wrap in stockinette stitch is worked from the striped edge. It uses short rows to create wedges which are separated by tucks. The first set of tucks almost hides the fabric underneath, creating a flash of color with movement or if seen from a different angle. The following tucks are getting slightly bigger within wedges of the same color.
It is a large and long shawl, perfect for being wrapped around the neck, the head or even the waist, replacing a light sleeveless sweater. The slightly rolling border of the last light gray wedge creates a collar-like effect. A soft lace weight yarn makes it light and cosy.
Additional Gauge Information
Gauge before knitting, not blocked: 20 stitches & 30 rows for 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4 “.
Measurements
Side lengths: 40” / 100 cm, 51” / 130 cm, 81” / 205 cm after blocking.
The yarn and gauge produce a rather stretchy fabric. Due to the asymmetrical design, the dimensions after blocking are not proportional to those calculated.
