The Iron Lattice Cowl design is inspired by a vintage cast iron floor vent cover found in my house (1912). Ornamental cast iron decorations were very popular in the Industrial Arts period (Art Deco Movement). Angular geometric patterns like this one merged form and function, interconnecting design elements that lent themselves to mould pours for mass reproduction.

The cowl is a light-weight seasonal accessory that can be easily worn over or under other layers. It is worked bottom-up in circular knitting. The lower ribbed band is followed by a charted pattern, shown with two options: MC dark|CC light and MC light|CC dark. Slight neck shaping occurs in the last section of the charted pattern, followed by the upper ribbed band finished in 1/1 tubular bind-off.

Sizing
Instructions with charts are given for one size, with an option to extend the height.
