The name of the village of Isenvad originates from the ford crossing the Isen stream. If you follow the Danish weather reports, you might have noticed that frost often settles in Isenvad before anywhere else. That’s why the Isenvad sweater simply has to be thick and cozy - a wonderfully warm winter knit to wrap yourself in until summer returns!

Isenvad is knitted bottom-up and designed to be long enough to fold over the ribbing at both the sleeves and body. At the sleeve ribbing, a section is knitted back and forth to create a hole for the thumb. The horse pattern is centered on the front and back, but if desired, additional horses can be added by copying the pattern and adjusting the number to fit the chosen size. After assembling the sweater, several rounds are worked with raglan decreases, and short rows are added to raise the neckline for a better fit.
