Description:
The Isla Scarf is a knitted scarf featuring decorative weaving and fringes at both ends. The scarf has I-cord edges and is worked in garter stitch with a striped pattern. Afterwards, strands are woven lengthwise to create a checked pattern. The carried yarn is hidden inside the I-cord edges.

Sizes: (1, 2, 3)
Size 1: approx. 14 × 200 cm = 5.5 × 79 inches
Size 2: approx. 18 × 200 cm = 7 × 79 inches
Size 3: approx. 24 × 170 cm = 9.5 × 67 inches

The red scarf is size 1, the green is size 2 and the blue is size 3.

Gauge:
10×10cm = 4×4in = 18 stitches × 48 rows in garter stitch using 3.5mm/US4 needles with woven strands on both sides, measured after washing.

Needles:
3,5mm/US4 (primary) and 4mm/US6.
The scarf is worked flat, so you can use either straight or circular needles.

Yarn:
Yarn option 1: Sandnes Mini Alpakka (50g=150m)
Color A: (3, 3, 4) balls
Color B: (1, 1, 1) ball
Color C: (1, 1, 1) ball

Yarn option 2: Filcolana Vilja (50g=165m) or Kit Couture
Alpaca (50g=165m)
Color A: (2, 3, 3) balls
Color B: (1, 1, 1) ball
Color C: (1, 1, 1) ball

If you choose an alternative yarn, I recommend selecting one with little to no elasticity and a smooth surface, such as 100% alpaca or an alpaca-silk blend, with a tension of approximately 10cm = 4in = 26–27 stitches in stockinette stitch using 3mm needles. I recommend working with a single strand

Other materials: Tapestry needle (for weaving)
