iSqr (Pronounced “eye-square”) is the ultimate combination of tech-geekery and knit-geekery!

Imagine a cosy case for your iPad or similar sized tablet device that features a knitted QR code so accurate, you can scan it! What’s more, you can make that QR code point to the website of your choice!

A QR code, or Quick Response code is like a bar code. You know the ones: they are cropping up everywhere these days, and you can use a simple app on a smart phone to scan the code, and get taken immediately to a webpage, or have a calendar entry plopped into your schedule, or many other magic things like that.

iSqr is a case for your iPad or tablet, which, with a bit of fun jiggery-pokery has a knitted QR code on a panel on the front, and a neat, stranded triangular flap closure on the back. What’s more, not only does the QR code actually scan properly, the whole case is knitted in one piece, in the round, and has absolutely NO SEAMS! Knit and geek heaven right there!

By following the simple steps in this pattern, you’ll be able to create your own QR code online, transfer it into a knitting chart with a spreadsheet program, or a good old fashioned pencil and paper, and knit you very own working version, right into the tablet case as you go along.

The iSqr pattern comes with two files - one is the standard pattern pdf that you will be able to download directly from Revelry, and the other is the template for creating your own QR code in the form of an Excel (Or Numbers for Mac users) file that Revelry cannot host at present. When I get the email confirming your purchase of the pattern, I will email the template file directly to you. (It’s not vital, as the pattern includes a blank chart that you can fill in with a pencil, but for anyone who would prefer to be able to do it on a computer, then print off the finished chart, the spreadsheet template is available.)
