What is Illusion Knitting you may ask??? The design acts as a hologram. Now you see it… Now you don’t! It’s as if by magic!!! Look at it one way and all you see are stripes, but look at it again and as if by magic the design is visable.

It’s fun and easy to do. As long as you can knit and purl you can accomplish this technique.

This bag is a styled along the lines of a European Market Bag. You could easily use it for a shopping bag or a tote bag as it is large enough to carry just about anything easily. It’s also deep enough so your French Bread or Bagguette will not fall out.

Make it a bit smaller (very easy to do) and it can become a Tallis bag, or knit only the top portion for a wonderful Matzo cover and perfect for hiding the Affikomen!

You can also, easily turn it into a wonderful display pillow.

This sample was knitted out of a worsted weight in medium blue and white, which are the traditional colors of the Israeli flag.

The front is the Israeli Flag and the back is done in an easy to accomplish Half-Linen Stitch.

The pattern includes easy to follow instruction sheets and the graph of the design.

It measures about 20hx13w finished. The size will depend upon your tension, choice of yarn and needle size, but you should come very close.
