This is an easy knit; worked in the round with raglan sleeves and fun stripes at the sleeve joins. The wonderful animal silhouettes are worked in duplicate stitch after the sweater is completely knitted. Duplicate stitch is not difficult. It takes a while, but unless you need the sweater today, its a great way to get the look of colorwork without stranding or working intarsia.

I chose beige and brown for the sample sweater. So cute for a little boy! But also terrific for that little girl in your life. Try two pinks, or mix it up and do black and white, red and pink, two blues…whatever you like!

The sweet animal faces ring the pullover just above the waist ribbing. You can work the duplicate stitch charts in a completely different color or colors, if you’d like. That would be a great way to use up stash yarn. I chart my own colorwork pictures and the charts are large and easy to read.

Animals included in the charts are panda, giraffe, penguin, chimpanzee, rabbit and cat. You can change the order of the animal charts. They are all the same time, so it’s easy to switch them out.

It knits up pretty fast on size US4/3.5mm and cast on with size US6/4mm circular needles, 16”/40cm length.
