Jack’s Point is a wide, oversized, drop shoulder sweater made with a compact dk (8 ply) yarn, held together with a mohair lace-weight yarn, to create a soft, luxurious fabric with lots of drape.

It is worked from the bottom up and seamed only at the shoulders. Stitches are picked up to form the band of the neck. The sleeves are worked top-down by picking up stitches and using short rows to avoid seaming. If you’ve never tried short rows before, this is a great introduction with links provided for those new to the technique.

The hem has side-splits and is lower at the back. The sleeves are bracelet length, but are easily adjustable in length. A slip stich ribbing is used for the bands.

The pattern is named after the settlement underneath the Remarkables mountain range where we, the Kiniki Knits sisters, hang out and talk about knitting.
