Welcome to the 2026 Year of Dishcloths patterns! This pattern is the January 2026 design!

This year all the dishcloth designs will be inspired by my favourite fictional detectives and sleuths! I really enjoy reading mystery novels and this theme is a great way to combine two of my favourite things - reading and knitting!

Agatha Christie is known as the Queen of Mystery, and for good reason. I’ve read most (if not all) of her books and although I love Hercule Poirot, I chose Jane Marple for the inspiration this month - and the novel with her first case, “The Murder at the Vicarage”.

This dishcloth design features a pretty lace leaf pattern - and is simple enough even for a beginner knitter. If you’d like a refresh on some of the stitches, check out my YouTube channel where i have lots of quick tutorials to help.
