January hat is knitted from crown to crown (top down), the method that involves starting with a small number of stitches at the crown of the hat and then increasing stitches evenly across subsequent rounds to create the crown shaping. Once the desired crown diameter is reached, the knitting continues without any further increases until the hat reaches the desired length.
After reaching the desired length, the decreases are then introduced to shape the crown of the hat. These decreases are usually evenly spaced around the circumference of the hat to create a smooth and rounded crown shape.
This method allows for easy customization of the hat’s length and fit, as well as the ability to try on the hat as you knit to ensure a perfect fit.
