January is the first month of the winter I start to dream about the spring ahead, with all the gorgeous leaves to admire.**

January Leaves is a very simple, basic sweater with a great fit - intended for every-day life and comfort:)

The sweater is easy to work with no complicated sts involved. If you are new to lace this could be a good start. Both leave-patterns are repetetive and simple and you get great value for the work involved:)

Fit January Leaves is supposed to be comfortable and a bit over-sized, the body should be loose-fitting, the sleeves are fitted and the flattering raglan-shape will sit well on the shoulders. The body of the sweater is straight, but you could easily make waist-shaping towards the side-markers.

Construction The sweater is worked in the simplest of ways; in-the-round and seamless. The lower body and the sleeves are worked bottom-up to armholes, pieces are joined and the raglan-shaping is worked in-the-round to the start of the neck-shaping where you work a few rows back and forth. Stitches are picked up along the neck and the collar is worked in-the-round.

Sizes There are 7 sizes to choose from. Finished bust-measurements are 36.5/39/41/43.5/45.5/48/50”. For a comfortable fit I advise that you work with at least 5cm/2” of positive ease.

Material You will need a worsted weight yarn that knits up to gauge to work the sweater. I used “Får” from Woolfolk, a heavenly soft merino wool that comes in skeins of 130m/142yards and 50gr/1.76oz. Approximate amount needed is 9/9/10/11/12/13/14 skeins (1278/1278/1400/1540/1704/1846/1988 yards), Needle size to obtain gauge. Suggested size 4.5mm/US7

Gauge To work the sweater to exact measurements you need to work to gauge. 10x10cm/4x4” = 21 sts and 30-32 rows. Pattern for gauge is stockinette.

The pattern The pattern is easy to follow with clear instructions to guide you through from cast-on to finished object. All measurements are given in cm’s as well as inches. There are lots of stitch-counts to ensure that you have the right amount of sts on the needles. The 2 leave-patterns comes with charts as well as written row-by-row instructions.
The pattern has been tested and proof-read.
