Japanese Landscape
Japanese Landscape is a pattern I designed because I couldn’t find one that captured everything I love about visiting Japan. I wanted a single blanket that brought together the sights and details that stay with me long after I’ve come home, so I drew it myself.
This pattern uses the mosaic crochet technique. I used 8ply yarn with a 3.5mm hook and my blanket ended up around 1.15m x 1.2m. Generally, if you use 10ply, a 200x250 stitch design like this will turn out like a king-sized blanket.
In total, I used around 6.5 skeins of the black yarn, and 7 skeins of the white yarn. These were all 283m in length.
The pattern includes the full grid chart, the chart split up into 9 sections in case you would like to print it, as well as written instructions for both regular overlay and reversible techniques.
Please note that this pattern does not teach you how to do mosaic crochet. There are many wonderful tutorials online that will do this. The technique itself is very easy as the stitches are essentially just slightly modified single and double crochets. You also do not need to do any colour changes as each row is done with one colour.
