The Jardin sweater is knitted seamlessly bottom up, starting the hem and the sleeves with an I-cord cast-on (see techniques used).

Body and sleeves are joined to start raglan decreases before knitting the yoke in heart stitch.

The combination of the large stitches, the fluffy, soft yarn and the boxy shape make this sweater easy to wear and comfortable, with a sophisticated look.

The Jardin Sweater is meant to be a boxy fitting, oversized sweater with at least 20 to 25cm of positive ease.

The Jardin Sweater uses 1 strand of a fingering weight yarn, held together with 2 strands of lace weight yarn.

You’ll need approximately: 720 (780) 880 (930) 970 (1020) m of a fingering weight yarn and 1440 (1560) 1760 (1860) 1940 (2040) m of a lace weight yarn held double.

1 strand Feliz y Punto 60% merino, 40% seda (425m/100g) held together with ITO sensai 60% mohair, 40% silk (240m/20g) held together with RICO designs essentials baby alpaca silk 75% alpaca, 25% silk (200m/25g).

Alternative yarns
Lang Yarns Carpe Diem 70% merino, 30% alpaca (90m/50g)

Recommended needles
6mm (US 10) circular needles; 40cm (16”), 80cm (32”) or 100cm (40”) long.

5mm (US 8) 80cm (32”) circular needle for I-cord cast-on.

Gauge
Knitted on a 6mm needle in stockinette stitch after blocking 14 sts x 20 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm.
