These are men’s size mittens designed according to the Norwegian Selbu tradition. They are knitted two-stranded in the round, with gusset for the thumb. Decreases are made in the sides, giving them the characteristic pointed tip.

Basic increases and decreases are used, as well as SK2P. The pattern is charted. All techniques are explained in the pattern with lots of photos.

Traditionally, Selbu mittens were made either black and white or sometimes red with either black or white, and the motifs often depicted things from nature or daily life. In this case; snow flakes.
