The Jayden Cowl starts out with a Garter Stitch tab cast on, is knitted sideways, and finished with buttons. No sewing!

Savvy Skeins San Antonio sock yarn in TWO colors.
MC: Raver (dark)133 yards.
CC: Easter Island (blue) 265 yards.

Notions:
US size 6 circular needle 24” in length. Darning needle for finishing.
5 Buttons approximately 1” in diameter.

Gauge:
20 sts and 24 rows in 4”, knitted in Stockinette stitch.
