Jetty Jumper
The Jetty Jumper upgrades a classic, drop-shoulder silhouette with unique shaping. The horizontal yoke brings an air of couture to this cropped, bracelet-length sleeve jumper. It’s a comfortable, straightforward knit with simple built-in colourblocking potential, and it also looks chic in all one colour!
It is important to me that this pattern is financially accessible and so for low-income customers, this pattern can be purchased at 50% off using the code ‘LOW50’. This is an honours system - please respect that I also am trying to make a living from my designs and if you can afford the full price I’d appreciate if you paid it.
The jumper starts with a yoke worked flat, front and back pieces are then picked up seamlessly in sections before joining together to be worked as a whole top down and in the round. The sleeves are worked seamlessly in the round before picking up sts for the neckline. This garment is worked all in one piece for a satisfyingly smooth knitting experience.
At the chest, the optional bust shaping short rows can be added to accommodate breasts. The body can be worked to the knitter’s preferred length with yardage shown for additional length; the waist shaping rows can also be omitted for a looser fit at the hem ribbing.
This pattern is graded using ‘women’s’ sizing charts but is designed with a wide variety of body shapes in mind. This style is totally unisex and should also fit a lot of cis men and other people who usually use ‘men’s’ sizing charts- please check the final measurements in the schematic.

Choosing a Size:
Choose the size that most closely matches your upper chest/upper bust measurement: Sizes 1 (2, 3, 4) (5, 6, 7) (8, 9, 10) 11 will fit upper chest measurements of 68.5 (78.5, 87, 95.5) (103.5, 112, 120) (128.5, 136.5, 145) 150cm / 27.5 (31.5, 34.75, 38) (41.5, 44.75, 48) (51.25, 54.5, 58) 60in
This is a positive ease garment.
To measure your upper chest/upper bust measurement, place a tape measure around your body underneath your armpits at an angle and keeping arms relaxed at your sides.
Finished Bust: 80 (88, 98, 110) (120, 130, 140) (150, 160, 170) 180cm / 32 (35.25, 39.25, 44) (48, 52, 56) (60, 64, 68) 72in
Intended positive ease at bust (the shaping will account for additional bust space requirements): 11.5 (9.5, 9, 11) (11, 10.5, 10.5) (10.5, 10, 10) 10cm / 4.5 3.75, 3.5, 4.5.25, 4.25) 4.25, 4, 4 4in

Choosing Shaping:
If you have breasts, a rounded chest or belly, or arched back, and often feel the front of your garments are shorter than the back, there is the option to work short row shaping over your chest to add length at the front only. This shaping is available in 5 cup sizes, adding 3.5, 6.5, 10, 12.5, 16cm / 1.25, 2.75, 4, 5, 6.5in. If you are between sizes, I would encourage you to size down in this pattern. Refer to the box opposite for how to decide which cup to choose.
Yarn:
West Wool ‘Tandem’ (100% South American Merino Wool, 233 meters / 254 yards per 100g) in colourways ‘Cobalt’ (C1) and ‘Mahogany’ (C2)
Gauge:
20 sts and 30 rows/rounds per 10cm / 4in in stockinette stitch worked both flat and in the round using 3.5mm / US 4 needle.
I suggest knitting one flat gauge swatch at least 15cm / 6in square in your Main Needle as well as one swatch in the round in your Sleeve Needle before knitting to check gauge. If there are more sts and/or rows than recommended in the gauge, you should size up your needles. If there are fewer sts/rows, you should size down.
Needles:

Ribbing Needle - 3.25mm / US 3 or size 0.25mm smaller than Main Needle in your preferred lengths for large stitch counts worked in the round (I used 80cm / 32in.)

Main Needle - 3.5mm / US 4 or size needed to obtain gauge in your preferred lengths for large stitch counts (I used 80cm / 32in.)

Sleeve Needle - 3.75mm / US 5 or size needed to obtain gauge in your preferred lengths for small stitch counts worked in the round (I used 30cm / 12in.)

Sleeve Ribbing Needle - 3.5mm / US 3 or size 0.25mm smaller than Sleeve Needle in your preferred lengths for small stitch counts worked in the round (I used 32cm / 10in.) (For many knitters, small circumferences come with a tighter gauge, which is why I recommend a slight sizing up for the sleeves.)
Supplies Needed:
- Tapestry needle and sewing needle
- 2 distinct stitch markers (can be made from a loop of waste yarn)
- Sewing thread
- Blocking mat and pins if desired
- Waste yarn in a contrast colour
Yardage:
Your yardage will differ depending on your shaping decisions. You can use the tables opposite to help you determine how much overall yardage you require in each colour. (This can also be all one colour)
Once you have your basic yardage in each colour, add the yardages together with any additional amount in C2 for your chosen cup shaping or length and waist changes to get your total yardage requirements.
If you wish to make a looser waistband without shaping, add the ‘+ for looser waist’ amount for your size to your total yardage.
If you wish to add length to the torso, yardage is included for one additional inch. If you wish to add multiple inches, multiply the ‘+1 in’ number by the number of inches you wish to add.
