The Jewel Blanket uses the marvellous technique of shadow knitting to create an illusion of blocks of colours when in fact it is worked in 2-row stripes with offset garter ridges.
It is knitted in one piece (except for the side borders), beginning with the bottom border. The borders are worked in garter stitch and shaped to form mitred corners which are flat-seamed to create a neat finish. The side borders are picked up and knitted out.
The pattern stitch can be worked from the chart or the written instructions.
There are two style options: one using five colours and one using three colours.
The Jewel Blanket is an easy knitting project suitable for advanced beginners and above.
