Bright, happy colors are my absolute favorites. Inspired in part by jewel-toned colors and in part by my jewelcrafting World of Warcraft character, whose armor is gilded with purple and blue gems, these socks are made up of alternating small and large diamond motifs, spaced out with tiny cables.

Jewelcrafted Socks are knit top-down, but could easily be modified to be constructed from the toe-up. Instructions for a traditional heel flap and heel are included, or you can substitute in your favorite heel.

Two diamond motif size options are available: a large motif (shown in Dream in Color Everlasting Sock Dream On!) and a small motif (shown in Lolodidit Everyday Sock Hippo for Valentine’s 2018 and Amazed). Choose the one you like best, just be sure to always work from your chosen chart/written instructions.

SIZE
Pattern is written for 64 sts. Adjust size by adjusting gauge/needle size/yarn weight. The given needle size/gauge will produce a stretchy sock approx. 8 inches in circumference.

YARN
Approx. 325 yards / 297 meters fingering weight yarn.

Large Diamond motif shown in Dream in Color Everlasting Socks (Fingering, 100% Merino, 400 yards / 365 meters per 100 g skein) Dream On!

Small Diamond motif shown in Lolodidit Everyday Sock (75% Merino, 25% Nylon, 463 yards / 423 meters per 100 g skein) Hippo for Valentine’s 2018 (MC) and Amazed (CC).

NEEDLES
Size US #1.5 (2.5 mm) circular needle (32” / 82 cm or longer) or DPNs for knitting in the round.

Use the needle size that gives you the correct gauge or that will give you your preferred fit.

PATTERN
The diamond motif is provided in both charted and written formats. Charts were created using StitchFiddle.
