I have seen an increase of whimsical hats and wanted to make my own. I tried some of the other similar jester hats, but I wanted the ears/horns to have a different angle than I was getting with those.

The pattern might seem difficult, but it is really just a 2 row and 3 row repeat happening at the same time, it just depends on which wedge you are on as to which you are working. If you do the granny cluster variant, then it’s even easier.

The hat can be worked until it is the size you want.

The sides of the hat can be seamed together once you are done crocheting the main body, or it could be joined along the last row.

When I put bells on mine, I put them on lobster claps, so that way they can be removed when washing or if the jingling is getting to be too much for you.
