Construction notes: The Joan Jacket is a structured half-brioche jacket worked from the top-down. Starting from the collar and picking up sts around upper back, the piece is knit seamlessly, first on the back, then on the front side. Stitches are joined under the arms, and the wide collar is folded double and sewn down on the inside of the garment. The sleeves are slightly tapered, and all edges are finished with a tubular ribbing bind-off. Joan has a lot of positive ease in the body and can be worn belted as well as open.
Inspiration: This pattern is inspired by Joan of Arc, her strength in uncertain times and her quote: “I am not afraid… I was born to do this.”
