After I created the Jocelyn Summer Cardi for a summer wedding, I realized the phenomenon of sleeveless dresses was even more of a problem for winter events. The shape of this cardi is ideal to wear with a dress–there’s enough of it to warm your shoulders and not so much it interferes with the overall shape of the garment. It is waist length in the back, has a scoop neckline, ¾ length sleeves and fronts that overlap at the neck then drape open. It is worked top-down seamlessly and comes in 9 sizes (XS to 5X). The construction is deceptively simple with only one row of increases at the neck. From there everything is worked evenly in stockinette stitch. The cardi is shown here in Knit Picks Diadem DK–a truly decadent creation. Fortunately the yarn quantities for this garment are small enough at all sizes to justify splashing out of this luxurious yarn.

PS–need a garment for a summer occasion or want something lacey? Consider the Jocelyn Summer Cardi made with Knit Picks CotLin.
