This is the toe-up version of this pattern. The cuff down version is called John Anderson’s Kilt Hose

There are sizing notes in the pattern. Do read them. In the pattern, I used a worsted weight and the socks were somewhat “stiff”. You can use a lighter weight yarn as long as it yields the same gauge, to use the pattern as written for the size, an average “skinny” leg. Using a larger size with worsted yarn gives a larger stocking.

Many have found the described toe to be too difficult. I have used Priscilla Gibson-Robert’s toe from _Simple Socks_. You may substitute your favorite toe-up method.

The pictures shown are of a pair of Toe-Up John Anderson’s Kilt Hose.
