The names Johnny and Jane mean gift from God, and every little baby boy or girl is indeed a gift in the lives of his or her family, a little gift to be loved and cherished.

Johnny is made from three easy to make 6 inch squares, with a flat join and very simple moss stitch border.

Jane is made from three easy to make 6 inch squares, with a simple whip stitch join and a pretty bead stitch and shell border.

Though I have made these as two separate baby blankets, all the squares can be intermixed.
Available as a photo tutorial in both US and UK terms.

Yarn Recommendations
Johnny – I used Stylecraft Bambino Dk, with a 4mm hook.
Each square is 6 inches, and the finished blanket is 34 inches square.
You will need 3 balls of Grey Mist, 1 ball of Little Boy Blue, and 1 ball of Sage.
A total of 5 x 100g balls – 1340m – 1465 yds
Total yarn used: 1340m – 1465 yds Finished size: 81.5 cm/32 inches square.

Jane - I used Stylecraft Wondersoft Stardust Dk, with a 4.5mm hook.
Wondersoft Stardust is available in 100g balls with 270m/295 yds per ball.
Each square is 6 inches, and the finished blanket is 33 inches square.
You will need 4 balls of Winter White, 2 balls of Petal, and 1 ball of Rose Bud.
A total of 7 x 100g balls.
Total yarn used: 1524m/1665yds Finished size: 84cm/33inches.

Should you choose to use a thicker yarn, and larger hook, your project will of course
be larger in size, and you will need more yarn.
