This jolly little hat is knitted in The Mercerie’s British Aran
Wool (available from our on-line wool shop) and looks great
in either bright berry red, or traditional forest green.

You will need one 50gm ball of cloud for the trim and the
bobbles, and one 50gm ball of either berry or forest.

This pattern is for a hat worked flat on size 5.5mm single
pointed needles. It is seamed at the centre back.
Worked with a moss stitch tension of 16st x 28rws it will fit an adult head.

On a smaller needle, 5mm, with a tension of 18st x 32 rws, it will fit a child’s head.

(Note: Make the bobbles first, that way if your loop stitch is
rather loose, and uses more yarn, you can allow for this when you knit the trim by either omitting one whole loop row, or by only wrapping twice, rather than three times on the last row.)
