This cabled, top-down raglan cardigan is named for the Norse settlement in England that became known as York, initially called Jorvik (Yor-vik). The wrought iron cable runs down the back, with smaller versions of the same cable on sleeves and at the side seams. There is no finishing, as the button band is integrated as you work the cardigan fronts.

Finished Size:
Chest 32(36, 40, 44, 48, 52) inches, sleeve circumference 12.75(13.75, 14.5, 16.25, 17, 17.75) inches, length 14(14.5, 15, 16, 16.5, 17) inches

Yarn: Dragonfly Fibers Selkie Sport (90% Bluefaced Leicester Wool, 10% Mulberry silk, 340 yards/4oz), 3(4, 4, 5, 5, 6) skeins. Sample worked in Captain Nemo.

Needles:
US #3/3.25mm circular needle, 32 inches or longer (larger sizes may prefer a longer needle).
Set of US #3/3.25mm double pointed needles or preferred method for small circumference knitting in the round.
Or size to make gauge

Notions
Stitch markers (six of one color, six of another)
Waste yarn or stitch holders
Darning needle
Cable needle
5/8” buttons – wait until garment is complete to select buttons to ensure proper size and number.

Gauge: 24 stitches/30 rows per 4” in stockinette stitch, worked flat. Ensure you use a correct needle size to make gauge in the round as well. Knitting in the round sometimes means you’re knitting more tightly; you may need to go up a needle size to make sure you stay at the correct gauge.
