This shawl is the fourth and final shawl in The Up North Collection. Each shawl represents a different locale in the Grand Traverse Bay area, this one featuring Traverse City herself.

Our Journey Up North always includes time in TC as we have beloved friends, no family there. We have created so many memories there, including all of the trips to take the pictures of the shawls for this collection,

The photos for Traverse City were taken in and around the grounds of The Commons. The old insane asylum that has be given renewed life with shops, restaurants, wineries, bakeries…oh Pleasanton bakery how I long for you now! We celebrated our 10th anniversary with a lovely dinner from Stella’s there. Truly a special environment on any occasion there is even yarn in there to be had.

Each time we go, we try a new restaurant, while making sure we visit a favorite like Georgina’s on Front. Poppycocks or Patisserie Amie for lunch and maybe Pangea for some GF pizza. Don’t forget the yarn shops, The Lost Art Yarn Shoppe and yarn Quest….yep I always visit those too!

Traverse City tends to be our sounding board for all of our Journey’s Up North, It leads to other adventures by day and night in and around the bay.

Please wrap yourself up in both your new knitting journey as you knit this simple Mosaic shawl and then when you wear it out on your next adventure….I hope in UP North Michigan!
