“I wished to call this ‘The Geiger Jacket,’ but it seemed someone with that name already used it! So I decided I would give it a deviation of my name. The twisted I-cord trim on this jacket gives the appearance of a separate underarm panel, but the fronts and back are knit (garter stitch) in one piece to underarms. Then underarm stitches are placed on hold and fronts and back are knit separately. The stranded knit sleeves begin at the top and are saddled to body underarm stitches until sleeve underarm panel begins. Then sleeves are knit in the round to cuff. Sleeves are bound off in I-cord, and a decorative I-cord is applied at top of cuffs. A collar is added, then twisted I-cord is applied around jacket. The design for the sleeves is from Z. Ventaskrasts’ books.”
