Joyride Gloves
IMPORTANT NOTE: I made this pattern for one size based on my own arms. I believe my arms are average sized, so this pattern should be fine for arms my size or a little bigger. If your arms are a little bigger than mine, the pattern should still work because of the corset in it. If your arms are a good bit bigger, you could go up a needle size or two, but you may have to consider a higher weight yarn as well. If your arms are smaller than mine, you could use smaller needles. The yarn will definitely still work with smaller needles because it is lace weight yarn. If you decide to buy the pattern and try to change it to meet your arm size, I suggest you try knitting a small swatch with the size needle you think would work for your arm size. Cast on 60 stitches, work in stockinette for a few rows, cast off, and see if it fits your upper arm right above your elbow. Or, cast on 40 stitches, work in stockinette for a few rows, cast off, and see if it fits your wrist. If the needle size makes both of those swatches fit well, than you should be able to work the pattern with that size needle.
My arm size and the size of the gloves:
13 inches long (from wrist to a little above elbow), 9.5 inches width above elbow, 6 inches width at wrist (widths exclude corset area)
This is a very beautiful pattern especially with the metallic yarn. I designed these gloves to go with one of my prom dresses and it was perfect! The gloves are very delicate and perfect for a special occasion, in particularly a colder weather occasion.
