The Jr. Forest Berry jacket is the girls’ version of my best-selling ladies Forest Berry Jacket – my first design! It’s a 1940s-inspired cardigan with puff shoulders, a feminine yet simple silhouette, and a decorative berry-pattern running down the front.
The junior version is worked top down, back and forth.

NEEDLES: 3.5 mm

YARN: Fabel Knitwear Pure Wool (100 g = 380 m)

Note on yarn choice: Pure Wool is a more rustic wool, and should be worn with something underneath for kids. This makes it incredibly durable and great for hard wear!

However if your child is sensitive to wool I recommend Fabel Knitwear Alpacca Cashmere Silk DK! It is SO soft!!
It is a soft, drapy DK and is not too different from Pure Wool in terms of thickness once knit up.

You could also use FK Athena, either single or double stranded depending on your gauge - this is a great option for kids who like sparkle, and for parents that want to chuck knits in the washing machine*
