4/17/2013 - fixed missing instruction to “knit to pattern marker” on round 12 of size 2T.

Pattern also now includes instructions for making a buttonless version.

6/22/2011 - the number of “v” repeats in the pattern is certainly a personal preference. I have found that with my boys they outgrew things in length much sooner than in width. You may want to do one less repeat if you have a child with a short torso.

1/15/2011 - pattern has been modified based on feedback, fixed minor stitch count error in the strap, added revisioning and page numbers. Also adjusted number of pattern repeats.

Please let me know if you find any errors

The Julian vest is knit in a bottom up fashion. Starting with a ribbed bottom. The front features a “V” pattern that leads into a V-neck opening. The shoulders have two buttonholes for ease of dressing. The armholes and neck are finished with a small rib.
This is a very quick knit up pattern and looks gorgeous on sweet little babies and their big siblings.

Basic knitting techniques, stitch increases and decreases

The vest may be knit with DK yarn without any additional modifications, it will simply create a slightly slimmer fit which may be perfect for thin babies/kids.
