This is an adaptation of a beginner slipper pattern my great grandmother used to knit. Instead of embellishing by adding pom-poms, I like to crochet around the top of the slippers and create ties that can be tied into bows. The slippers are knit and the optional trim is crocheted.

You can read more about my great grandmother on p. 8 of CraftSanity Magazine issue 4 (available for instant download on the left sidebar of CraftSanity.com).

The slippers in the project photo where made with yarn from Briar Rose Fibers.
