Introduction

The Juliette socks are a perfect stashbuster which allows for endless color possibilities. You can create a rainbow palette or a repetitive color scheme. You can aim for a subtle fade in colors, or high contrast transitions. This makes them fun and playful to knit.

The socks are worked cuff-down on a 25cm/9in circular needle. The pattern can be easily adapted to be knit using the magic loop method, or using douple pointed needles.

The heel construction is the forethought heel (some test knitters worked a shadow wrap heel, this is an option as well if this is your prefered heel construction).

Sizes

The Juliette socks come in 3 sizes:
• 64 sts: sock circumference of 20cm/7.75in
• 72 sts: sock circumference of 23cm/9in
• 80 sts: sock circumference of 26cm/10.25in

How to pick your size: Measure the circumference of your foot. If you want a proper fit, subtract 10% (around 2cm/0.8in).
The length of the sock is adjustable to individual measurements.

Yarn

Scrap sock yarn or mini sock yarn skeins in different colors, or regular skeins of sock yarn if you’re aiming for a repetitive color scheme.

For each colorwork repetition you need (4, 5, 6)g/(0.15, 0.18, 0.21)oz per color per sock, or double the amount for 2 socks.

The estimated total yardage is (120, 144, 168)g/(4.24, 5.08, 5.86)oz for a foot size 39 (EU) / 8 (US Women’s).

Gauge

31 stitches x 41 rounds per 10 x 10cm / 4 x 4in in stockinette on 2.5mm needles (or needle size to obtain gauge with) after wet blocking.
