A Jumper-Wearing Gentoo - what’s not to love about this little guy!

The inspiration for this pattern comes from a trip my sister will make later in 2019 to Antarctica as part of the Homeward Bound Project (www.homewardboundproject.com.au/home). The program brings together women in STEM roles to discuss climate change and make global connections. Katie (my sister!) is one of only two Irish women chosen to go this year. Its a fantastic opportunity but it is a rather costly one, so my contribution is this pattern. All funds raised from the sale of the pattern will go directly to her travel costs.

My little Gentoo is knit from the base up, mostly in the round. The jumper as written is knit flat in two pieces, the front and back, but could easily to converted to knitting in the round also.

The pattern uses about 200g of black dk yarn, about 75g of white and small amounts of all the colours in the jumper so it would be a good project to use up all the bitty ends of balls of wool.
