Jumpin’ Jellyfish
Notes:
-You will need an I hook, some uncooked rice, your kitty’s favorite catnip, some scrap yarn, possibly a yarn needle, buttons/safety eyes/whatever you prefer to use for eyes, a plastic dome from a gumball machine, and possibly a small bit of cardboard and some tape.
-Pattern is mostly worked in rounds, so a stitch marker is helpful if you don’t want to do a crap ton of counting. I usually just use a bobby pin.
-Finished dome piece should fit snugly around a standard gumball machine dome, but can be stuffed with your favorite filler if you’d prefer.
-If you are using a plastic dome, you’re going to punch some holes in it (I used a screw or knife on the ones I made,) and fill it about 3/4 of the way with a mixture of uncooked rice and catnip. This will make for a fun rattling effect that will also release catnip. Also, I did not use the small cap part that came with the dome to close it, as it seemed to make the finished product a wonky shape. I cut a piece of cardboard to the size of the opening and just taped it on to close the dome off.
