Mohair is so lustrous and warm, it deserves to be knitted into garments that will be functional and attractive in all sorts of weather. My friends Jay and Cari, at Junebug Farms (www.junebugfarms.com) keep Angora goats, and create the most beautiful small-batch mohair and mohair blend yarns. This hat was designed in their honor, and features one of their lovely yarns.

However, its simple classic styling would be attractive and warm if knitted in any heavy worsted weight or aran natural fiber yarn.

A rolled brim helps to shed water in wet weather, and the Ribbed band ensures that wind won’t blow the hat off your head.
This is an easy knit-- skills needed are limited to Long-tail Cast On, knit, purl, increase (any type of increase you like to use), and Knit 2 together.

The written pattern gives detailed instructions for an average Adult size hat, which will fit a 20-22” head. However, suggestions for resizing are also included, to make a larger, or child-sized hat.
