About Junior Constant Companion:
The Junior Constant Companion is the perfect every day cardigan for for little ones. This cardigan has been designed to match the popular adult cardigan pattern, Constant Companion, so that all age groups can have their own constant companion!

The cardigan is very easy to knit and comfy to wear, featuring a stranded motif around the yoke for added detail. The pattern uses Excelana DK, a soft but robust double knit weight yarn with a soft lustre which shows off the vibrant shades of Honolulu to its best. The contrasting shades of Snowdrop, Tansy and Bellflower work beautifully with its subtle teal hues.

A simple knit, the body is knitted in one piece back and forth from the bottom up until the armhole divide is reached; at this point the body is put to one side and the sleeves are knitted in round to the same point; the pieces are then joined together to work the Fair Isle yoke. A steek is added at the beginning of the Fair Isle section in order for the yoke to be worked in the round. After cutting the steek, stitches are picked up to work the button bands. The small section of colour work with a steek is a great introduction to learning how to do stranded colour work and of course, how to work a steek. If you would prefer not to work a steek, the cardigan yoke can be knitted back and forth instead with alternate rows purled instead of knitted.

Our two year old model is shown wearing the 2nd size for age 2 years with approximately 5cm (2in) of positive ease. It is recommended that you choose a size with approximately 5cm (2in) of positive ease at the chest.
