This is a PDF Knitting Pattern in English to create mittens for over 5 year olds.

Mittens are knitted flat from the bottom up using two straight knitting needles.

You will need to take two measurements from the recipient:
Measurement A: Measure thumb from where finger joins thumb
Measurement B: Measure hand from thumb

Finished Measurements:
Ribbing: 8cm flat, 4cm folded
Mitten Length: depends on Measurement B.

Mittens can be customized to fit any size but will be loose on under 5 years old.

Materials Needed:
Straight Knitting Needles: 4mm
Main Colour Yarn in DK weight
Contrasting Colour Yarn (for ribbing) DK weight
Tapestry Needle
✂️ Scissors
Tape Measure

Abbreviations:
MC - Main Colour Yarn
CC - Contrasting Colour Yarn
Sts - stitches
K - Knit
P - Purl
Kfb - Knit front back (increase stitches by 1)
K2tog - Knit two together (decrease stitches by 1)
RS facing - Right Side facing

Knitter should know how to Knit, Purl, perform simple stitch increase and decrease (kfb and k2tog), mattress stitch to join seams. Knitter can do a colour change or make mitten in one colour.
